Helping Teams See What Survey Data Is Actually Saying
We are a small team based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Our focus is narrow by design — making open-ended response data readable and useful for people who are not data analysts.
Back to HomeWhere Quillaja Came From
Quillaja grew out of a straightforward observation. Research and operations teams were collecting useful open-ended survey data — employee feedback, stakeholder consultations, internal pulse checks — and then spending days trying to make sense of it manually, or handing it off without a clear structure for reading it.
We started in 2022, working with a handful of teams in the Klang Valley, helping them group responses and write short summaries that could actually be shared with decision-makers. The feedback was consistent: teams wanted a cleaner process and something they could maintain themselves over time.
That shaped how we built our services. Each one is designed with a clear scope, defined deliverables, and where appropriate, training so your team can carry the process forward independently.
What Guides the Work
We want survey response data to be as readable as the quantitative numbers beside it. Most teams can look at a chart and draw a quick conclusion. The open-ended responses sitting next to that chart often stay unread, or get reduced to a few cherry-picked quotes.
Our aim is to close that gap — not by replacing human judgement, but by doing the sorting and grouping work that makes the data easier to read carefully.

How We Approach the Work
Human Review at Every Step
AI tools handle initial sorting and draft summaries, but a team member reviews every output before it reaches the client. No unreviewed content is delivered.
Data Discretion
Client response data is used solely for the scope of the engagement. We do not store, share, or reference data beyond the project period. Anonymised data is accepted.
Defined Deliverables
Each service has a written scope. Before work begins, both parties agree on what will be delivered, in what format, and by when.
Knowledge Transfer
Setup services include training sessions so your team understands the configured process and can adapt or maintain it after the engagement ends.
Plain Communication
We communicate in straightforward language — no unnecessary jargon in summaries or project updates. The output should be usable by non-technical readers.
Review Cycles Built In
For longer programmes, review cycles are scheduled from the start. There is a point to revisit groupings and refine summaries as the data evolves.
Survey Response Intelligence in Malaysia
Research and operations teams across Selangor and the wider Klang Valley deal with growing volumes of qualitative data. Employee engagement surveys, customer satisfaction forms, and stakeholder consultations each generate open-ended responses that are difficult to process at scale without a structured approach.
Quillaja works with these teams to apply a consistent method — grouping themes, writing short summaries, and flagging patterns — so the data becomes something that can actually be discussed in a meeting or included in a report without hours of manual sifting.
We draw on established practices in qualitative research alongside current AI language tools. The combination lets us process larger response sets than manual methods allow, while keeping a human in the loop on what the data is being asked to say.
Teams working with us typically come from internal research functions, HR, operations, or strategy. They are usually comfortable with data in general, but need support with the open-ended side that does not lend itself to a dashboard.
